10 Minute Burp Cloth Sewing Pattern
Free burp cloth Pattern with downloadable template! Learn how to sew a quick and easy burp cloth, it is sure to be an easy and fun sewing project and would make a great baby shower gift.
Burp cloths are the most useful yet the easiest baby items to sew. You may have a number of burp cloths for your baby but you can never have enough of them to catch those wet burps.
Burp cloths are much needed to protect your baby’s clothes or even yours from the baby’s drools and wet burps. They can be made in absorbent fabrics to keep the baby’s chest dry and prevent him or her from catching a bad cold or cough.
These DIY burp cloths can be made from the leftover pieces from a baby dress or diaper cover you made earlier. That way you can make matching sets for your baby or as a baby shower gift.
Though this free burp cloth pattern is an easy baby sewing project, I enjoyed sewing it. It took me just about 10 minutes to sew one! I didn’t stop there and I made numerous ones to gift the new moms I know.

10 Minute Burp Cloth Sewing Pattern
Finished Size:
18- inches long and 8.25- inches wide (at the widest point)
Materials Needed:
1) ½ yard of fabric for the burp cloth front (you may use fat quarters instead). Here I have used flannel, you may use medium-weight cotton fabric in a color and print you like.
2) ½- yard of fabric for the burp cloth back. Here again, I have used flannel but you may use terry cloth for more absorbency.

Similarly, cut the burp cloth back piece from the other fabric.
