This week, I whipped up something fun for the little ones! I took a break from sewing patterns and dived headfirst into a colorful paper cup fruit extravaganza! It’s the perfect no-screen activity to unleash your child’s inner artist and keep them happily occupied for ages.
Remember those cute fruit fans and paper plate crafts from last summer that were a hit? Well, this new project is just as easy and engaging, guaranteed to bring some creative cheer! There are five fruits to choose from and all these are so colorful that your little one would love to craft on and on! So, let’s get crafting!
Paper Glass Watermelon:
Supplies Needed:
Paper Glass.
Dark green, light green, red and black craft paint.
Dark green, light green and red coloring pen to mark the sections to be painted.
Paint brush.
Ear bud.
1) Gather your supplies. 2) Take the glass and mark a line about ½” from the rim, all around, with your dark green coloring pen. 3) Paint the outside of the line dark green, taking care not to cross the line ( it is also okay if it does cross the line a bit here and there, the painting would look natural and nice). 4) Next, take a bit of the light green paint. 5) Draw another line, about ½- inch from the first line, all around, with your light green coloring pen. 6) Paint the inside of the line light green.
7) Paint the remaining part red. 8) Next, take the buds and dip it in the black paint. Paint the seeds scattered above the red painted area and your paper glass watermelon is done.
Papaya:
Supplies Needed:
Paper Glass.
Dark green, yellow, orange and black craft paint.
Green and yellow coloring pens to mark the sections to be painted.
Paint brush.
Ear bud.
1) Gather your supplies. 2,3) Mix the yellow and a little bit of the dark green paint to get the light green paint. 4) Paint the rim of the glass light green. 5) Paint a thin strip, next to the green strip, – roughly 1/2- inch thick, with your yellow craft paint. 6) Paint the remaining part of the glass orange.
Take your buds, dip it in the black craft paint and draw seeds scattered along the bottom of the glass and your paper glass papaya is ready!
Kiwi:
Supplies Needed:
Paper Glass.
Dark green, light green and black craft paint.
Dark green and light green coloring pen to mark the sections to be painted.
Paint brush.
Ear bud.
1) Gather the supplies. 2) Leaving the rim, paint a strip about ¾ – inch wide, all around the glass, with the light green paint. 3) Using the dark green paint, paint bout ¾ -inch thick strip all around the glass, just next to the light green strip. 4) Take your buds, dip it in black paint and draw the seeds scattered along the dark green and white surface. 5) Your paper glass kiwi is ready.
Dragon Fruit:
Supplies Needed:
Paper Glass.
Dark pink and black craft paint.
Dark pink coloring pen to mark the section to be painted.
Paint brush.
Ear bud.
1) Gather the supplies. 2) Leaving the rim, paint a strip about ½- inch wide, all around the glass, with the pink paint. 3) Take your ear buds, dip it in black paint and draw the seeds scattered on the white surface. 4) Your paper glass dragon fruit is ready!
Pineapple:
Supplies Needed:
Paper Glass.
Dark green and yellow craft paint.
Paint brush.
1) Gather the supplies. 2) Paint the whole outer surface of the glass yellow, leaving the rim, with your yellow craft paint and brush. 3) Once the yellow paint is dried, paint slanting and wavy lines, with your dark green paint, starting from the bottom of the glass to the rim. **Keep about ¾- inch distance between the lines. 4) Draw another set of similar lines across the first set to create the designs on the pineapple peel. 5) Draw dark green spikes on the center of the checks and your paper glass pineapple is ready!
