Bulls Eye Pincushion, DIY, Pincushion Tutorial

Pin Cushion patterns seem to be everywhere on the internet these days but nothing seems to impress me. I wanted to make a different yet fun pincushion and so I came up with this bull’s eye egg one! This pincushion can be made in minutes, you don’t need too many supplies. Just dig into your pile of scraps and grab a little bit of poly fibre, you are ready to start!.
 Here is the tutorial:
Lets first do the yolk. We need to trace an approximately 5″ circle onto the yellow yolk fabric. Here I have used my salad bowl for that.
Now sew around the edge of the circle with a matching thread and needle. Take care to leave quite a long tail of thread at both the ends.
Pull at both the threads to form a pouch with the circle.
Fill the pouch with poly fibre and tighten the thread to close the pouch. Tie a few knots to secure.
Let us go on to make the egg white.
Take two pieces of your white scrap, layer them and cut it in an irregular shape (like that of fried eggs), as shown above. It should measure approximately 5 & 1/2″ across.
Layer the two pieces and sew around the edge, leaving a small gap to turn it inside- out.
Turn the yolk inside out and stuff the inside with poly fiber.

Sew the opening shut, using a needle and thread.

Now go on and add your yolk to the center of the white. You can either hand-sew it or hot-glue it to the center.

Voila! Our cutie pincushion is ready!

Cute Idea! I just visited my brother and sister-in-law in TX and and my brother's specialty is making breakfast. Never had so many eggs in a week! Think I will make his wife an egg pincushion. Maybe a piece of bacon too!
