Supplies Needed:

A medium size cardboard box.

A large roll of burlap string.

Medium- weight cotton fabric in any color and print of your choice (I opted for plain white 😊)

Gather your supplies.

Fold the closure flaps towards the inside of the box on all four sides.

Take your burlap string and start hot gluing it along the lower edge of the box, starting from one end. Try to glue it straight, as much as you can.

Continue gluing the string all around, with the subsequent rows, touching each other, without leaving any space in between.

Keep gluing the string till you reach about 2.5- inches from the top edge of the box. Secure the tip of the string and cut the extra off.

Take your cloth about 7- inches taller and 1-inch wider than the perimeter(measurement of the box all around) of the box. Leaving a 3/8- inch seam, sew the three sides shut, leaving the top edge raw. Fold the top edge by ½- inch twice and sew it down to finish.

Bring the right side of the fabric out and push it to the inside of the box.

Level out the wrinkles on the cloth inside the box and your DIY rope basket is ready for use!
