Easy Criss- Cross Coaster Sewing Pattern
Supplies Needed:
Fabric Scraps in coordinating colors and prints.
Medium- weight fusible interfacing.
Sewing Notions.
Gather your supplies.
Cut five 4.5- inch squares from the fabrics. * You will need to cut one 3.75- inch square piece from the interfacing.
Take one square, fold the square in half, with the wrong sides together and press to set.
Repeat the step on three more squares, leaving one piece for the base of the coaster.
Fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the base piece, following the manufacturer’s instructions and leaving equal space all around.
Take two folded pieces and place it over the right side of the base piece, lining up the raw edges and opposite to each other (let’s name the pieces 1 and 2 for convenience).
Take another folded square (let’s name it piece- 3)and place it at right angles to piece-2, again lining up the raw edges. Lift piece-1 and tuck in the edge of piece-3 underneath piece-1. Refer the picture above.
Place piece-4 at right angles to piece-1. Lift piece-2 and tuck the edge of piece-4 under it. Pin all around the edges.
Sew around the edges to secure the pieces, removing the pins as you go.
Clip the corners to reduce the bulk in the seam.
Flip over to the right side through the center.
It would look like this once done.
Poke the corners out with the help of a wooden dowel and press taut.
