This quick, easy, and satisfying sewing project is perfect for beginners and adds instant style to any table.

Linen fabric, home décor fabric, or medium-weight cotton fabric in a desired print and color for the table runner upper and lining (make sure that the fabric width is 54- inches or more)- 1/2 yard each. Rickrack, lace, or pompoms (optional)- 4.5 yards.

Step 1

Cut your table runner upper piece, 52- inches long and 16- inches wide. Repeat with the lining fabric.

Keep the upper and lining pieces layered, with the right sides together, lining up the edges and pin all around.

Fold the layer in half lengthwise.

Step 4

Along the long raw edge, mark a point 4- inches from the top. Draw a line to connect the point to the top of the fold.

Cut along the line. This would make the ends of the table runner pointed. Repeat on the other edge.
